Google Pack is "a one-stop software package that helps you discover, install, and maintain a wide range of essential PC programs," intended for buyers of new PCs. It was announced at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show, on January 6. Google Pack is currently only available for Windows XP and Vista. The release puzzled some industry observers as it wasn't clear what Google had hoped to achieve, with Google Pack appearing as a collection of unrelated software.

ShadowUser intercepts all file system changes on a Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP system and diverts them to a ShadowMode volume, restoring a system to its original state on reboot or keeping only selected changes. The files actually stored on disk aren't modified unless the user actively commits the changes to disk. If a problem occurs, you simply discard the ShadowMode volume. And if the system crashes (perhaps under attack by malicious software), it will automatically return to its previous state on restart.
